Yuma Sheriff's Officers Grab Marijuana after Anonymous Tip PDF Print E-mail

Yuma, Arizona - Around noon yesterday, the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office received an anonymous call about an abandoned white pickup truck in the desert area south of 40th St. Investigation revealed that the vehicle had been reported stolen out of the City of Yuma on 07-09-08.

Located in the interior portion of the vehicle were 12 plastic wrapped bundles of marijuana with an approximate weight of 267 pounds.

Evidence at the scene indicated that another vehicle had pulled up near the stolen vehicle and removed other items from the vehicle. The estimated street value of the marijuana is approximately $213,000.00 dollars. The Yuma County Narcotics Task Force responded and took possession of the marijuana and the vehicle was turned over to the Arizona Auto Theft Task Force.
