Tucson, Arizona - Part of a series of Living Healthy with Arthritis monthly talks presented by the Arizona Arthritis Center at The University of Arizona College of Medicine. Learn how you can use massage therapy to ease the pain and stiffness associated with arthritis. Research has shown that massage can decrease stress hormones and depression, ease muscle pain and spasms, increase the body’s production of natural pain-killing endorphins, and improve sleep and immune function. In fact, many doctors recommend massage to their patients with arthritis. Hear more about the benefits of massage and body work for managing arthritis pain from licensed massage therapists Ann Mihina and Sandra Anderson at the next Living Healthy with Arthritis program, A Holistic Approach to Pain Management. Mihina directs the massage school at Providence Institute. Anderson is a practitioner, educator and owner of Tucson Touch Therapy. Seating is limited. Prior registration is requested. Supported through the Susan and Saul Tobin Endowment for Research and Education in Rheumatology. |
