Naco, Arizona - Tucson, Arizona Sector Border Patrol agents apprehended a group of 62 illegal aliens near Naco, Arizona, over the weekend.

While patrolling Saturday afternoon west of the Naco port of entry, Naco Station Border Patrol agents discovered footprints suggesting that a large group of people had illegally entered into the United States. With the help of a Border Patrol Service canine, the agents followed the footprints and discovered 62 illegal aliens. The illegal aliens were taken into custody and processed for removal from the United States.

Fifty-five subjects were processed under the Mexican Interior Repatriation Program, which has been implemented as an impediment to the smuggling cycle.

Since October 1, 2007, the Tucson Sector Border Patrol agents have arrested more than 281,000 illegal aliens-a 16 percent decrease from the same time period a year ago.
