Yuma, Arizona - The Yuma Youth Choir 2008-2009 will be holding auditions in the AWC Band Room on Monday, August 18th from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm and Wednesday, August 20th from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm.  If you are interested in the Beginning Choir there is no need to audition. Auditions are only required for the Advanced and Elite Choirs. Rehearsals begin the week of August 25^th.

 

Open to all students from 9 – 15 (boys whose voices haven’t changed and all girls)

No audition necessary

No experience necessary. Most students in this group will have 0 – 3 years of experience

Students will learn basic musical terms, and learn the basics of music reading.

Students will be exposed to a variety of choral styles including the Classics, Broadway, and contemporary choral music.

 

Open to all treble voices approximately ages 14 and up

Audition required

Must be able to read music, carry a part without the help of another person

-Come to all rehearsals and performances

-Must be able to sight read

Attendance is mandatory at rehearsals and performances.

 

Open to all students from ages 9 - 21 including boys whose voices have changed

Audition required

-Must have at least 2 years choral experience

-Reading music is not a necessity, but is preferred
