Yuma, Arizona - On 6/30/08 at approximately 3:15 pm, a Yuma County Sheriff’s Sergeant initiated a traffic stop on an Chevrolet pickup for a traffic violation. During the stop, the driver was arrested for driving on a suspended license. Due to suspicious behavior on the part of the driver, the Sergeant contacted the Yuma County Narcotics Task Force who responded with a K-9 unit.

The K-9 alerted to the presence of drugs and upon searching, task force members found approximately 55 pounds of marijuana concealed in a spare tire. The marijuana has a street value of over $45,000.

The driver, Jose Diosdado, 43, of San Luis, Mexico, was arrested and booked into the Yuma County Jail on charges of possession of marijuana for sale, and transportation of marijuana for sale.
