Yuma, Arizona - Keen-eyed U.S. Border Patrol agents from the Yuma Station arrested a drug smuggler and seized eight bundles of marijuana Saturday morning.

Early Saturday morning at about 1 a.m., Border Patrol agents from the Yuma Station observed several individuals carrying large bundles across the international boundary and loading them into a 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer near the Colorado River. Border Patrol agents along with the assistance of CBP Air assets followed the vehicle. Agents attempted to perform a vehicle stop, but the vehicle refused to stop.

Through a joint effort with the Yuma Police Department the suspect vehicle was stopped after agents successfully deployed a controlled tire deflation device. Once the vehicle came to a stop, the driver was taken into custody. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed a total of eight plastic-wrapped bundles of marijuana, weighing 386.2 pounds with an estimated street value of $308,960.00. The driver, marijuana and vehicle were turned over to the Yuma County Narcotics Task Force.
