\Yuma, Arizona - On Saturday, at 10:47 pm, The Yuma Police Department responded to the 500 block West 11th Street in reference to a domestic disturbance.

Officers contacted the suspect, Olegario Pecheco Andrade, 27 years old of Yuma, in the 1000 block South 6th Avenue. Officers and Yuma Fire Department personnel also responded to a fire at Andrade’s apartment in the 500 block West 11th Street.

The investigation revealed Andrade was involved in a domestic disturbance with his ex-girlfriend. Andrade set fire to the apartment after the victim left. The fire resulted in extensive fire and smoke damage to the apartment. Andrade was booked into the Yuma County Adult Detention Facility for the listed charges:

  • Arson
  • Aggravated assault per DV (domestic violence)
  • Criminal damage per DV
  • Disorderly conduct per DV
  • False Reporting
  • Possession of marijuana
  • Arrest for a felony warrant for parole violation out of California
