Tucson, Arizona - United States Border Patrol agents from the Tucson, Arizona sector arrested three convicted sex offenders over the weekend. As illegal aliens continue to attempt to enter the U.S., the Border Patrol continues to be an “all threats agency.” With the assistance of the Integrated Automated Fingerprint Index System, agents can identify individuals with a past criminal record in the U.S.

Agents from the Naco Border Patrol station Saturday arrested a 36-year-old male Mexican national. Through IAFIS records checks it was revealed that this individual had been convicted of sexual assault and third degree sexual abuse in Perry, Iowa.

Sunday agents form the Nogales Border Patrol station arrested a 26-year-old male Mexican citizen. Records revealed that man was charged with child enticement/sexual contact and is a convicted sex offender. Records also revealed an active arrest warrant out of Madison, Wisconsin.

Monday agents form the Sonoita Border Patrol station arrested a 26-year-old Mexican male. Record checks revealed this man had been convicted of felony lewd and lascivious acts with a child less than 14 years of age. This subject also has an active felony warrant from Redwood City, California.

Sexual predators will often attempt to re-enter the United States, but are encountering a more pronounced enforcement effort by Customs and Border Protection and the United States Border Patrol. The Border Patrol continues to protect our nation’s borders and will arrest and remove anyone that illegally enters and chooses to cause harm to our nation.

All three subjects are pending removal proceedings.
