San Luis, Arizona - United States Customs and Border Protection Field Operation officers arrest four people with outstanding warrants varying from theft to sexual offense charges. “The technology capabilities of our computer systems provide us the ability to receive information from other law enforcements agencies,” said Port Director William K. Brooks. “This partnership allows us to catch those with criminal records who are supposed to be behind bars.” On Friday, a CBP officer screening travelers queried a passenger of a vehicle entering the U.S. from Mexico. The query revealed the 29-year-old U.S. citizen man had outstanding warrants. The first warrant was for a sex offense/escapee out of Puerto Rico and the other for a fraud charge out of the state of Washington. The man was immediately arrested and turned over to the U.S. Marshals for further investigation and processing. Earlier that same day, a CBP officer while screening travelers queried a 42-year-old U.S. citizen and discovered he had an active order of protection. The man was traveling along with the person named in the protection order. The man was immediately arrested and turned over to the San Luis, Ariz., Police Department. On Saturday, a CBP officer screening travelers queried a 25-year-old U.S. citizen and discovered he had an active warrant for contempt of court (original offense/driving with a suspended license). The man was immediately arrested and turned over to the San Luis Police department. Later that same day, a CBPO officer while screening travelers queried a 45-year-old Mexican man and discovered he had an active warrant for failure to appear (original offense/theft). The man was immediately arrested and turned over to the San Luis Police Department. |
