Yuma, Arizona - CBP Air and Marine pilots and Border Patrol agents from the Yuma Sector collaborate to deliver a happy new year for a party of recreational boaters lost on the Colorado River early this morning.

At 11:30 p.m., last night, the Yuma County Sheriff’s office requested the assistance of the U.S. Border Patrol and the CBP Air and Marine air branch in locating a party of rafters who had gone missing earlier that day. A helicopter was immediately dispatched to the area, and a Yuma Station Boat Patrol vessel also responded.

Within an hour, the A&M pilot and his Border Patrol agent observer located the party east of Gateway Park, trapped in thick brush. The helicopter landed, and the observing agent debarked the aircraft in order to reach the party on foot. By 1 a.m., the subjects had been led to safety.

The party, which consisted of two adult females and two minor females, were in good condition, and did not require medical attention.
