Yuma, Arizona - County Administrator Robert Pickels and Luis Miranda, Yuma County Emergency Manager, announced today that officials throughout the county will participate in a series of rigorous emergency management training exercises next March. Selected county and city elected officials, along with personnel including key leaders of the county’s first responder team, will travel to the National Emergency Training Center in Emmitsburg, Maryland. |

AWC Names Tom Minnick New Head Football Coach |

 Yuma, Arizona - Arizona Western College is proud to announce that Tom Minnick has been named as the new Matadors’ Head Football Coach. Minnick was officially introduced to the media earlier this afternoon in a press conference on the AWC campus. The announcement of Minnick ends a national month-long search to fill the position.

Washington, DC - According to the FBI's Preliminary Annual Uniform Crime Report released today, the nation experienced a 1.4 percent decrease in the number of violent crimes and a 2.1 percent decline in the number of property crimes for 2007 compared with data from 2006. |
