$8.68 Billion Settlement with Countrywide Home Loans Announced

Los Angeles, California - Attorney General Edmund G. Brown Jr. today announced a landmark, multi-state settlement with Countrywide Home Loans, Countrywide Financial Corporation and Full Spectrum Lending that is expected to provide up to $8.68 billion of home loan and foreclosure relief nationally, including $3.5 billion to California borrowers.

Phoenix, Arizona - Arizona Governor Janet Napolitano reminds Arizonans that it is not too late to file a 2007 income tax return to take advantage of the special tax credits that may be available to them. October 15, 2008 is the deadline to file federal income taxes and many residents may find that they are eligible for the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) or an economic stimulus payment.

Yuma Police Seek Information - Sexual Conduct with a Minor Case

Yuma, Arizona - On 9-22-08, the Yuma Police department received a delayed report alleging inappropriate sexual conduct between a former Kofa High School teacher and a male student who was 16 at the time. The conduct began in 2006, and involved former Kofa High School teacher Christopher Parrett, age 33.
