Tempe, Arizona - The state government general fund shortfall in the current fiscal year is projected to be near $1 billion - even after transfers of monies from the rainy-day fund and other funds - according to a report produced by the Office of the University Economist at Arizona State University. This is in addition to a shortfall of more than $1 billion in the last fiscal year. At current trends, a larger deficit is projected for the next fiscal year. |
