Yuma Fire Department Strike Team Returns Home

Yuma, Arizona - Late last night Yuma Fire Department’s four firefighters returned from their Strike team assignment to California. They were notified Sunday that they were being demobilized and began the process that ended with them leaving the Chico, CA area (North of San Francisco) around 5:00 am yesterday morning and arriving back in Yuma about 10:00 pm last night.

Construction Trades Programs Opens Doors To New Students - AWC

Yuma, Arizona - The Arizona Western College Construction Trades Programs will be hosting program orientation Monday to Thursday during the month of July and August for students, parents and area businesses. Carpentry Professor Frank Orta and Electrical Wiring Professor David Sisson at the AWC Construction Trades Center will conduct program information and facility tours.

Yuma Fire Department Strike Team Update

Yuma, Arizona - The City of Yuma Fire Department engine and personnel that were assisting with the current California wildfire situation had been scheduled to be sent home, but were instead redeployed to the “BTU Lightning Fire” near Chico. They have been assigned to protect structures in the path of the fire.

Memento's Lisa Nickle Supports Upward Bound Summer Program

Yuma, Arizona - Arizona Western College announced today locally owned scrapbooking and card making store, Memento’s, has donated over $1,400 worth of scrap booking supplies for the Upward Bound Summer Program held on the AWC campus each summer.
