Yuma, Arizona - This year on New Year’s Eve, the Yuma Fire Department, in cooperation with the Yuma Police Department, will conduct a series of spot checks on drinking establishments located in the City of Yuma. These checks will include determining if the number of patrons is within the allowed occupancy limits, and that fire and life safety codes are being followed.

Yuma, Arizona - Every New Year’s Eve the Yuma Police Department responds to numerous reports of “shots fired” within the city limits. Some people discharge a firearm into the air to bring in the New Year. This is obviously a very unsafe practice that could lead to tragic consequences. The Yuma Police Department would like to remind the community about this illegal activity.
