Arizona Governor Janet Napolitano Kicks Off Annual Book Program

Phoenix, Arizona - Governor Janet Napolitano kicked off the fifth year of her statewide literacy program tomorrow with a visit to Patterson Elementary School in Mesa. Through the generosity of private sponsors, she has distributed more than 500,000 free books to first and fourth grade students in Arizona since 2003.

Phoenix, Arizona - The spring draw for 2008 hunt permit-tags for turkey, javelina, buffalo and bear has been completed by the Arizona Game and Fish Department. Anyone who applied can now visit http://www.azgfd.gov/eservices/draw.shtml or call (602) 942-3000 (press two and follow the prompts) to find out if they have been drawn for a hunt permit-tag.

AWC - Matador Men's Basketball Begin 2007-08 season

Yuma, Arizona -  The Arizona Western College men’s basketball team will officially commence their 2007-08 basketball season Friday as they host Grand Canyon JV at ‘The House’ on the AWC Campus. The Matadors enter the game ranked 17th in the NJCAA Preseason Poll, which is the 3rd time in the last four seasons that the Matadors have received a national ranking to begin the season.
